A deposit of $300 per person is required to secure your booking. 

Deposit  is refundable minus $40pp until May 19, 2025.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Saturday, July 19

 Fly to St. John's, Newfoundland.  Today is a travel day. After our Valley Pick up’s along Hwy 17. (Pembroke to Ottawa) we fly from the Ottawa airport to St. John's, Newfoundland. Upon arrival in St. John’s we will transfer to our fabulous downtown hotel. Overnight in St. John's.  HOTEL - JAG Hotel 

Flight Schedule -Air Canada.

Day 2 - Sunday, July 20

 St. John's.  After a leisurely breakfast, a local guide will take us on a scenic tour through St. John's, including the historical sites of Signal Hill, Quidi Vidi, St. John's Basilica, and the Government House.  Lunch will be included at "Ches's Famous Fish & Chips". Enjoy a free afternoon to relax, browse or shop along the famous Water, Duckwork and George Streets - all walking distance from our hotel. This evening is free to enjoy the lovely restaurants near our hotel.   Today, breakfast & lunch will be included.  HOTEL - JAG Hotel

Day 3 - Monday, July 21

 St. John's - Gander.  Today we visit Petty Harbour, one of the oldest fishing communities in the province; a true taste of Newfoundland at its finest, then on to Cape Spear, North America's most easterly point. Enjoy the walking paths and stunning views. Have your camera ready for whales! After lunch, we will travel through Terra Nova National Park en route to Gander, the "Crossroads of the world".

Day 4 - Tuesday, July 22

Gander - Twillingate - Gander. This morning we travel along the "Road to the Isles" as we make our way to Twillingate.  Explore the history of this beautiful outport including  stops at Long Point Lighthouse, Auk Winery tour & taste,  and an interesting tour of the Twillingate fishing museum. If the weather permits and you are interested in whale watching in a zodiac boat, today if you day (weather permitting and this is optional).  We enjoy a scenic drive along the coast line of Notre Dame Bay as we make our way back to Gander.  Before returning to our hotel, we will see the famous Gander Airport landing site where so many planes were forced to land on that fateful day - 9/11.   Today, breakfast and lunch will be included.  Hotel - Quality Inn Gander

Day 5 - Wednesday, July 23

 Grand Falls - Rocky Harbour.  Today, we will enjoy a scenic drive along one of North America's most spectacular coastlines as we start along the Viking Trail to world renowned Gros Morne National Park. A visit to the new Discovery Centre greets us into the park also known as the "Galapagos of Plate Tectonics". Tonight you’re in for a special treat. After your choice of traditional Newfoundland cuisine, you become a true ‘Newfie’ during a “Screetch In” ceremony. Overnight in Rocky Harbour. Today, breakfast, lunch and dinner will be included.  HOTEL - Ocean View Rocky Harbour

Day 6 - Thursday, July 24

 Rocky Harbour.  This morning we will have a guided tour of the Newfoundland Wildlife Museum. The rest of the day is free to relax and explore the quaint sea-side town of Rocky Harbour. For those who wish, the option ($) to take a scenic and informative boat tour (weather permitting) into the Western Brook Pond in Gros Morne Park is available. You learn the geology of the Tablelands and enjoy the scenery of the Long Range Mountains and glacier carved fjords. Please note: to access this boat tour, a 3km (~45min) walk into the park is required. There is also a musical boat cruise available from our hotel that plays live traditional music onboard ($). We will be staying overnight in Rocky Harbour for a second night. Today, breakfast will be included.  HOTEL - Ocean View Rocky Harbour

Day 7 - Friday, July 25

 Rocky Harbour - Ferry to Labrador.  Today, we will continue our scenic coastal drive along the Viking Trail. At St. Barbs, we board our ferry to cross the Straits of Belle Isle to the shores of Labrador. Here we visit the Gateway to Labrador’s visitor centre that offers a series of interpretive panels and artifacts from the first settlers some 9000 years ago. We continue on to the Red Bay Historic site where the first Whaling Station was founded by the Basque in the 16th century. Shipwrecks found at Red Bay have helped understand the evolution of ship design and construction during this period of time. We overnight in L’Anse aux Clair. Today, breakfast and dinner will be included.  HOTEL - Northern Light Inn

Day 8 - Saturday, July 26

 St. Anthony, Labrador.  Today we cross back over to Newfoundland. We continue up the West Arm to the UNESCO World Heritage site at L'Anse aux Meadows, home of Lief the lucky and the Viking people who settled this area. We continue on to St. Anthony for the night. Today, breakfast will be included.  HOTEL - Hotel North

Day 9 - Sunday, July 27

 St. Anthony - Cornerbrook/Deer Lake. This morning, we embark on a cruise exploring the breathtaking coastal waters off St. Anthony; an area noted for its incredible icebergs, whales and seabirds. We will travel back along the Viking Trail as we make our way to Cornerbrook then to Deer Lake for the night. Today, breakfast, lunch and dinner will be included.  HOTEL - Holiday Inn Deer Lake.

Day 10 - Monday, July 28

 Fly Home from Deer Lake. This morning, transfer to the Deer Lake airport for your flight home.  Drop offs will occur along the Hwy 17 corridor in the reverse order as the pick ups on Day 1.  Today, breakfast will be included.
